Go Pimple-Free with Tea Tree in Your Skincare Regimen

Woman with Clear Skin

Pimples! The lone zit that appears making your life a complete wreck! And if it appears just before you are all set for a big occasion, then you know the misery that comes along with it.  Many reasons cause acne or pimples; these are not limited to clogged pores, oily skin, not cleaning out the makeup completely, using the wrong products (read chemical-laden products), and in some cases, it could be genetic. Let us first understand what causes acne or pimples before moving on to a skincare regime that can help you keep the pimples at bay.

What Causes Acne Or Pimples?

Acne or pimples occur when the pores of your skin clog with oil, dead skin, or a build-up caused due to bacteria. Each skin pore opens to a follicle, and the follicle is made up of hair and a sebaceous gland, also known as the oil gland. Over time, the oil gland releases oils that reach follicles, come out of the pore, and onto your skin. To ensure that the bacterial build-up and oils do not clog up the pores leading to a break-out, follow a good skincare regime.

What Should Be Part of a Skincare Regime?

Your skincare regimen must include chemical-free products free from parabens and SLS to ensure that your skin doesn’t undergo further damage. What you need to do is repair your skin to ensure that the break-outs don’t happen again. A good skincare regime to tackle acne and pimples must include the following:

  1. A Gentle Face Wash:

Including a face wash with a gentle lather that pulls out the toxins from your skin is a must-have in your skincare regimen. Use it twice a day. Cleanse your face with face wash and wash off with lukewarm water. Mamaearth’s Tea Tree face wash is packed with the goodness of tea tree oil, a revered ingredient in skincare, especially that needs extra care to combat pimples and acne.  It also contains the extracts of neem that is known to be a skin purifier, and last but not least, pure aloe vera in the face wash helps to soothe inflamed and troubled skin.

Pro Tip: Want to get rid of the deeply embedded impurities gently? Then try the foaming tea tree face wash that comes with gentle bristles. The benefit of using this foaming cleanser is that the gentle bristles gently massage your skin and help to dislodge the deeply embedded particles that are clogging the pores, and while you massage it on your skin, it also boosts blood circulation.  The anti-bacterial goodness of the Tea Tree & acne-fighting benefits of Salicylic Acid, when blended in this face wash, helps to clear pore congestion, fight bacteria, and control excess oil secretion.

  1. A Gentle Scrub:

People with oily skin need to use a scrub not more than thrice a week. Using a scrub every day can strip your skin off of natural oils. Mamearth Tea Tree Scrub, packed with the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties of tea tree, neem, and tulsi, purifies the skin and soaks up the excess oil without harming the natural pH balance of your skin. The walnut beads in the face scrub gently exfoliate while removing dirt off the skin’s surface. Make this scrub a part of your skincare routine at least twice a week and get the skin that you’ve always wanted.

  1. Mask It Up:

A mask is known to draw out the impurities when you apply it to your skin. The Neem Face Mask by Mamaearth will help in reducing the occurrence of pimples, acne & zits on your face. The anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of tea tree and neem can help control the bacterial build-up that causes acne and pimples.  Aloe Vera in the mask helps in reducing inflammation caused due to acne & pimples. Use it at least once a week to give your skin the added nourishment it needs.

  1. Use a Serum:

A serum can be a part of your PM routine. Apply the Mamaearth Tea Tree Serum just before you hit the sack so that your skin can get uninterrupted eight hours of nourishment as you sleep. Of course, the serum needs to be applied to a cleansed face! Don’t forget that. Just two drops of the serum dotted on the face and neck and massaged till it is completely absorbed should work its magic on your skin as you rest. The serum is packed with the goodness of Salicylic Acid and is lightweight and super absorbent that leaves your skin feeling soft and light after application.  The serum restores the skin’s protective barrier to its optimum health, leaving you with clear, acne-free skin.

  1. Always Use Sunscreen:

No matter what your skin type is, using sunscreen is a must. It doesn’t matter even if you spend most of your time indoors. But if you are stepping out, use sunscreen at least 30 minutes before you step out to protect your skin against the harmful UV rays and environmental pollutants.

There you go! Just a few simple skincare products are all you need to battle the dreaded acne and pimples! Use these in your skincare regime for at least 3 – 6 months for the results to show effectively.

Note: As with all products you will try out, we recommend you do a patch test. Try using the product on the inner side of your elbow to rule out any side effects or allergies. If you do not find any rashes or allergies occurring after 24 hours of carrying out the patch test, you can use the products. For underlying skin conditions that can be very damaging to your skin, do consult a dermatologist for further treatment
